SHERWOOD, Ark., January 31, 2006 — Cardinal Health, the leading provider of products and services supporting the health-care industry, today celebrated the one-year anniversary of its national customer service center in Sherwood, Ark., which now employs nearly 500 customer service professionals.
The 71,000-square-foot, $12 million facility is one of two new national customer service centers opened by Cardinal Health in 2006. At the facility, customer service professionals respond to inquiries and help resolve issues for customers including hospitals, physician offices and pharmacies.
“Our customer service centers are critical to our ability to deliver knowledgeable, friendly and timely response to customer needs, nationwide,” said Vicki Perryman, senior vice president, customer service for Cardinal Health. “We chose to locate our service center in Sherwood because of its quality workforce and for the community’s healthcare knowledge. We are pleased to say that this new facility now handles more than 50% of our customer calls nationwide.”
Since entering Sherwood just a year ago, Cardinal Health employees have also demonstrated their commitment to the community by donating more than 260 hours worth of pre-paid calling cards to service men and women overseas, donating more than 1,400 pounds of food to the Arkansas Food Bank and by making product donations to Shepherd’s Hope Free Clinic.
“We are very proud to have Cardinal Health in our community,” said Jay Chesshir, President and CEO, Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce. “They have already proven to be an outstanding corporate citizen, and their contribution to Central Arkansas has had a significant impact.”
