DUBLIN, Ohio, Sept. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Cardinal Health is pleased to announce that the board of directors has elected Clayton M. Jones as director, effective Sept. 13. Jones, 63, is chairman, president and CEO of Rockwell Collins, Inc., a Standard & Poor's 500 aviation electronics and communications equipment company.

In 2001, Jones became president and CEO of Rockwell Collins, Inc. as the company was spun off from Rockwell International. In 2002, he also became chairman of the company.
He served as vice president and general manager of the Collins Air Transport Division and as corporate senior vice president of Government Operations and International in Washington, D.C., where he represented all Rockwell businesses to international and domestic customers. In 1982, he was sponsored by Rockwell to serve a fellowship in a White House Executive Exchange program where he was assigned to the Environmental Protection Agency. Prior to joining the Rockwell defense electronics business in 1979, Jones served eight years in the United States Air Force as a fighter pilot.
Jones serves on the board of directors of Deere & Company and the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. He also serves on the board of governors of the Aerospace Industries Association. In addition, Jones is a member of The Business Roundtable, The Business Council and the President's National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee. He is an Honorary Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
Jones holds a bachelor's degree from The University of Tennessee and an MBA from The George Washington University.
