DUBLIN, Ohio, May 16, 2012 — Cardinal Health today recognized four employees with the Robert D. Walter Founder’s Award, the company’s highest and most celebrated honor. Now in its tenth year, the Founder’s Award is given annually to employees that not only embrace Cardinal Health’s core values but also lead by example in their current roles within the company.
Cardinal Health employs more than 30,000 employees worldwide, of whom nearly 250 were nominated by their co-workers for this year’s Founder’s Award. Employees are nominated by their peers based on extraordinary actions and daily deeds that exemplify Cardinal Health’s principles and leadership fundamentals, including an optimistic spirit, a commitment to customers and accountability in their day-to-day tasks. Cardinal Health chairman and former CEO Robert D. Walter, the award’s namesake, was the first recipient in 2002. Since then, nearly 40 employees from across the country spanning a wide range of roles and responsibilities have earned the prestigious award.

The 2012 Robert D. Walter Founder’s Award Recipients include:
· David Lawrence, vice president, Specialty Solutions (Dublin, Ohio)
· Betty Blumenauer, director of meetings and events, Public Affairs (Dublin, Ohio)
· Rusty Lange, application support manager, Nuclear Pharmacy Services (Dublin, Ohio)
· Richard Lomazzo, director of operations, Medical Segment (Montgomery, N.Y.)
Each award winner received a Cardinal Health crystal statuette and framed certificate. Additionally, they joined Walter, Cardinal Health CEO George Barrett and other senior executives at a recognition dinner on May 15 in Dublin, Ohio.
