DUBLIN, Ohio, June 15, 2010 — Cardinal Health today announced that it is a recipient of the Premier healthcare alliance™ Pinnacle Award for outstanding contract management and the Polaris Award for customer service.
The Pinnacle Award recognizes Premier supplier partners for their outstanding management of agreements and drive toward a mutual goal of providing clinical and financial value to the alliance’s hospital members. Only 38 of Premier’s 800 suppliers received the award.
“The Pinnacle Award honors Premier valued suppliers that strive for collaboration and performance excellence to benefit the alliance, and we are honored to recognize these top performers,” said Premier Purchasing Partners President Mike Alkire.
The Polaris Award recognizes those supply chain partners who have excelled at the qualitative aspects of service to Premier’s members, including high relationship value and customer service. Members selected Cardinal Health as the Polaris Award recipient by ranking the top five Premier Pinnacle Award winners.

The annual award recognizes one Premier member hospital and one supply chain partner for efforts to purchase goods and services from Premier contracted diverse suppliers, as well as their efforts to develop procurement strategies aligned with the communities they serve.
