Contact Center World Recognizes Cardinal Health
06/27/2007
Company garnered two awards for leadership and community spirit at annual awards conference

DUBLIN, Ohio, June 26, 2007 — Cardinal Health, a global provider of products and services that improve the safety and productivity of health care, received two “Best of the Best Americas” awards from ContactCenterWorld.com, a global on-line resource for contact center and customer service professionals. Cardinal Health’s Financial Shared Services team was recognized for its community spirit with a gold medal and Kevin Smith, the group’s vice president, received a silver leadership award.

'We are honored to be recognized by our peers in the industry,” said Kevin Smith, Cardinal Health’s vice president of Financial Shared Services.  “We’ve got a great story to tell about our local leadership and community involvement. Winning these awards is a bonafide way to validate these efforts.'

The company was chosen from more than 300 applicants. As a result of receiving the gold medal for its involvement in the Albuquerque community, Cardinal Health will compete later this year with winners from other regions for the title of Best in the World 2007.

“Our management team created a culture that supports and encourages community involvement and our employees are ambassadors of that culture,” said Dara Ambriz, Cardinal Health’s community representative for Financial Shared Services.  “In FY06, our team donated more than $263,000 to the Albuquerque community.'  Ambriz added that Smith was nominated for his role in helping employees feel engaged in their careers, the company and the health-care market.  This is reflected in continuous, positive results for the company and high employee engagement.

To become a finalist for the awards in Americas, companies entered written submissions and were interviewed. Entries were reviewed by a panel of global judges.  Finalists gave presentations that were judged by industry peers and were awarded gold, silver or bronze medals.
