DUBLIN, Ohio, Oct. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cardinal Health, Inc., the leading provider of products and services supporting the health care industry, today announced that Ivan K. Fong will join the company on Nov. 1 as executive vice president and chief legal officer.
In this role, Fong, 44, will serve as secretary of Cardinal Health's board of directors and manage all legal affairs for the company. Brendan A. Ford, who has served as interim chief legal officer since May, will return to his role as executive vice president of Corporate Development.
Fong was most recently senior vice president and general counsel for General Electric's Vendor Financial Services business, where he managed a wide range of litigation, compliance and public policy matters. Prior to joining GE in 2000, Fong served as deputy associate attorney general for the U.S. Department of Justice, adjunct professor of law at Georgetown University and was a partner at the law firm Covington & Burling. He also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Sandra Day O'Connor of the U.S. Supreme Court.

Fong was a Fulbright Scholar at Oxford University, earned his law degree from Stanford University and holds bachelor and master's degrees in chemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
