Cordis and Cardinal Health Foundation Donate 11 Million Yen to Assist with Japanese Earthquake Restoration Efforts

As part of our commitment to Japan, we hope our support will help with the restoration efforts in the Kumamoto and Oita prefectures.

Tokyo, Japan — June 6, 2016 — Cordis, the interventional vascular business of Cardinal Health, and the Cardinal Health Foundation will donate 11 million yen to Save the Children Japan to assist with restoration efforts for children and families affected by earthquakes that have struck Japan’s Kumamoto and Oita prefectures since April 14 this year. Cardinal Health Foundation will also match 50 percent of all donations from Cardinal Health employees around the world to aid with relief in Japan.

Taichi Moro, Japan president, commented, “Our hearts go out to all those affected by the recent devastating earthquakes. We are honored to support Save the Children Japan in its endeavor to help communities rebuild as soon as possible.”

“As part of our commitment to Japan, we hope our support will help with the restoration efforts in the Kumamoto and Oita prefectures,” added Patrick Holt, president of Medical Products, Cardinal Health Asia Pacific.

Kunio Senga, chief executive officer of Save the Children Japan, commented, “Cardinal Health and Cordis’ generous contributions will be very valuable for our ongoing efforts to help children recover as soon as possible so they can again enjoy happy and healthy lives.”
