Rebecca McGrath, Cardinal Health’s SVP of Government Relations and Public Policy, and Jerrica Mathis, VP of Federal Government Relations and Public Policy, have been named to The Hill’s list of 2023 top lobbyists. The Hill is a Washington, D.C.-based newspaper and digital media company that focuses on politics, policy, business, and international relations.
McGrath has full responsibility for leading and coordinating Cardinal Health’s government relations team of state and federal lobbyists and serves as lead lobbyist on all issues, including medical devices and pharmaceuticals, distribution, supply chain, manufacturing, home and specialty health care, as well as post-acute matters including prescription drug shortages, trade, preparedness, appropriations, drug pricing, nuclear medicine supply, the Affordable Care Act, and taxation. Mathis serves as senior leader on McGrath’s leadership team and lead federal lobbyist.
The two work in close partnership, McGrath explained. “We are a great team. We are both mission-driven in our work, and inspired by the opportunities we have every day to influence the design of health policy that will have a positive impact on both healthcare providers and patients.”
As experts on key issues that impact Cardinal Health and the healthcare industry, McGrath and Mathis assess legislation to determine how it may impact Cardinal Health’s business and customers, build relationships with federal, state, and local government officials, and ensure that Cardinal Health’s views are represented as public policy takes shape in local, state, and national healthcare discussions.
“This is deeply meaningful work,” Mathis said. “We advocate not only for Cardinal Health, its customers, and its employees, but also for the patients our customers serve. We’re working to influence the future of healthcare – a future in which everyone has equitable access to quality care.”
Cardinal Health congratulates McGrath and Mathis for being named Top Lobbyists, and thanks them for their commitment.
