Cardinal Health Announces Brian Rice as EVP, Chief Information Officer and Customer Support Services

DUBLIN, Ohio, Jan. 23, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Cardinal Health (NYSE: CAH) today announced that Brian Rice will join the company as executive vice president, chief information officer and customer support services. Rice's most recent role was senior vice president, chief information officer and global business services for Kellogg Company. In his new role at Cardinal Health, he will report to Mike Kaufmann, CEO of Cardinal Health.

While at Kellogg Company, Rice's role as CIO was expanded to include Global Business Services and he managed more than 2,000 professionals across six global and regional service centers. During a previous engagement with Kellogg in the 1990s, Rice led an information technology team in Sydney, Australia as the regional CIO. Rice worked at General Motors in Detroit, Mich. where he was global process information officer and global services information officer. Previously, he led Mars, Incorporated's Asia Pacific Information Services from Singapore.

Rice will officially join Cardinal Health on February 4, 2019.

Rice was senior vice president, chief information officer & global business services for Kellogg Company from 2009 through the beginning of 2019.

Rice previously held leadership positions with Kellogg Company in information technology and enterprise business practices, both in the U.S. and Asia Pacific from 1993 to 2000.

Prior to rejoining Kellogg, Rice was employed by General Motors Corporation from 2005 to 2009, where he served as global services information officer and was responsible for all aspects of global computing for the company. From 2000 to 2005, he was employed by Mars, Incorporated and served as vice president and chief information officer for its Asia Pacific business based in Singapore.

Rice received a bachelor's degree in computer information services from Ferris State University.
